  MAIN SPEAKER

Claude Hubbard
Claude was born in April, 1959 in the thriving metropolis of Oak Ridge, Tennessee (which means he is older than dirt!). In 1977 he graduated from high school at Mercersburg Academy in Pennsylvania and entered the United States Naval Academy.

After 4 (very long) years he graduated and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps. Claude served for 13 years on active duty as an infantry officer and intelligence officer, finishing with the elite 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion.

It was in 1983, while serving as a rifle platoon commander during the fighting in Beirut, Lebanon that Claude became a Christian. In November 1993, after much prayer, Claude left the Marines to attend Westminster Theological Seminary.

Claude has served as a pastor at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City and several of her daughter churches.

Pastor Claude is married to Dr. Shiu-Lin Tsai. They have twins, Joshua and Christiana, who were born on July 21, 2003. Fortunately, the children look like their mother.

  WORKSHOP SPEAKERS

Jasmine Flores
Jasmine is a public school teacher teaching Chinese and 7th grade Life Science. She currently attends worship at Morning Star NY. She has been on various missions trips overseas - Turkey, India, and China. In addition, she has studied abroad in Taiwan, conducted research in Japan, attended a conference in Thailand and visited France, Malaysia, and Singapore.

She graduated from Connecticut College in 1999 with a B.A. in Asian Studies and Chinese. Jasmine has spoken at the NY Summer Conference and TECBC, as well as at churches on Worship, Comparative Religions, the Holy Spirit & Spiritual Gifts, and Mentoring.

In addition, she leads worship at the annual OneHouse event, and is on the OneHouse Leadership committee serving as coordinator of Worship. She became involved with ministry at CCHC Herald Gospel Camp ministry as a Counselor and Speaker the summer of 2003.

At the time, she was a public school teacher teaching 6th grade. However, an unexplainable and irresistible call to CCHC Herald Youth Center brought her to work there as the Education Coordinator in December 2003 where she worked there as a full-time youth minister until Summer 2006. She continues to be involved with the Herald Youth Center as a volunteer.

Jasmine will graduate with her M.S. Childhood Education w/Students with Disabilities from Mercy College at the end of 2007. Her guilty pleasures include reading; watching 24, Smallville, LOST and Heroes; obsessing over Hillsong worship; studying Asian languages; updating her blogs/forums; and playing DM online.

Peter Ong
Peter is an Associate Director of PaLM and is developing a Laity project to equip and serve Asian American leadership through fellowship, training and mentoring. One of the primary goals of the ministry is to develop strategies for networking and development of Asian American lay leaders through an annual conference and ongoing academy. Peter serves with the Chinese Christian Herald Crusades' Herald Youth Center.

He attended New York University and worked in the Asian American non-profit sector for five years before being called to full-time youth ministry. While attending Redeemer Presbyterian, Peter served on the Board of Directors for Hope for New York, a mercy and justice ministry. He has also served as an advisor to the Teen Eastern Chinese Bible Conference; Jesus Generation, whose mission is to see a generation sold out for Jesus; volunteer staff at NYU Intervarsity Asian American Christian Fellowship; youth pastoral committee for The Call NYC and also one of the first forming committees for the Coalition of Urban Youth Workers.

In 2005 he served as a liaison to the Billy Graham Crusades of Greater New York, working with community churches to reach local youth. He regularly preaches at churches, youth conferences and to himself in front of a mirror.

In addition to working in ministry, Peter has published reviews on graphic novels, and comics. His loves: Jesus, Youth (especially chubby ones), being married, Hymns, Dim Sum, mac's, ice cream, sushi, music, books and of course Halo 2. His dislikes: vegetarian hot dogs, cheese, soy milk (he gets bloated), romantic comedies (that seems redundant to me), and sweaty noses. He writes on his blog at www.peterong.wordpress.com and his xanga at peterdarock (his screename for aim and yahoo).

Noelle is also public relations coordinator for Running Roots, a New York City-based nonprofit that seeks to cultivate Christian community and support evangelistic outreach ministries.

She enjoys writing, reading, gabbing with friends, experiencing new things, spending time with her family, and the Yankees.

Laurence Tom LT is a pastor at Chinese Christian Church and Center in Philly Chinatown. Orginally raised in the Brooklyn side of town LT ventured out to Rutgers University in the distant land of New Jersey where he studied graphic design, urban planning and public policy. He got involved there with the InterVarsity Chinese Christian Fellowship in a heyday where God moved powerfully in students’ lives. After working a couple of years in a nice cushy corporate job, he broke the news to his parents that he wanted to leave it all to serve as a youth minister intern at the Rutgers Community Christian Church and marry a tall white girl.

Like a young Jedi Padawan, he then began his theological training at Biblical Theological Seminary pursuing a Master of Divinity degree and soon, even, got married to that tall white girl who happens to be an All-American volleyball player. For more than a decade strong, LT has gotten his hands dirty in youth ministry, missions stateside and overseas, sharing the privilege of helping establish Somerset Christian College as a premier evangelical college in Jersey, and building the future church. He's getting his hands even dirtier now raising his son Jayden.

In the late hours of the night LT can be found producing music, blogging, chatting and catching up on his favorite shows (Battlestar Galactica and Heroes) all on his mac. LT also serves as the Youth Program Director of the Chinese Missions Convention (CMC) sponsored by Ambassadors for Christ, Inc. which is coming up again in December 2007.
