Preparing for the Conference
Below are things that may be helpful for you to prepare for the
conference.
Be sure to check out our FAQ section
also.
- Check the schedule to ensure you know where to go when you
arrive.

- Would you like to serve? We are still in need of people to
serve many areas at the conference. If you are interested, CLICK HERE to fill out a form.
- For those that are not registered this year, you can still commute to the conference to hear main messages and other select events.

Changes
- Registration/Check-in Registration will be held in the
Student Center Rooms 143 and 145. You can locate the Sondra and David S. Mack Student
Center (Building #31) on the Hofstra campus map.

- Workshops. We made some changes to our workshops and workshop schedule. Please check for the latest updates:

We'll have a desk at Registration to confirm your workshops.
- Main meeting locations. The main messages for
College and Career will be given at the Student Theater at the Student Center.
- College and Career workshop locations. The College and Career workshops will be held in C.V. Starr Hall (Building # 60).
- Day Rate. You can commute to the New York Summer Conference for the College and Career program. Please come to the Student Theater in the Student Center (Building # 31) BEFORE 11:30 AM to register for the day of your planned attendance. Morning Main Message will be held from 10:00 - 11:30 AM, Morning Workshop will be held from 11:45 - 1:00 PM; Afternoon Workshop will be held from 2:30 - 3: 45 PM; Evening Main Message will be held from 7:30 - 9:15 PM.

- Children Services. You must make arrangements BEFORE the conference begins for all children services. Please contact registration. The schedule for babysiting adheres to the Mandarin Conference schedule (9:15am-12:15pm; 3:30-5:30pm; 7:15-9:20pm). Your child will need a wristband (given when you register) to participate in the following: Children ages 2 and under: Babysitting; Children ages 3-4: Sunday School (given only in Mandarin); Children ages 5-12:
Program given by Child Evangelism Fellowship.
What to Bring
- Open heart and mind
- The white admission form that was mailed to you with the
confirmation letter.
- The SIGNED Liability Release Waiver. If
you are under 21 years of age, your parent or legal guardian MUST
sign it.
- Bible (if you have one) and pen.
- Jacket and/or sweatshirt
(It get's pretty cold because all meeting rooms are
air conditioned and it gets chilly at night!)
- Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, etc.)
2 towels and a small bar of soap will be provided by
Hofstra Services. (Feel free to bring your own)
- Key Deposit of $40
(Will be refunded upon return of your keys at
checkout.)/li>
- Cash or checks if you would like to purchase CDs of messages and
workshops.
There is a $10 replacement fee for loss of your
meal/key card.
- Sneakers & recreational equipment
(optional for outdoor activities)
- Umbrella (In case of rain, going from dorms to
meeting rooms)
- For the last morning of the conference, we have a communion
service. Though it is not required, some people like to dress in
their "Sunday best". This is OPTIONAL.
- A note on the dress code for the
conference: To keep from being a stumbling block to others, we ask
that NO tank tops, undershirts or "muscle tees" be worn throughout
the entire conference. Males must keep their shirts on at all times,
even outdoors during free time.
Things Provided by Hofstra Services
(Feel free to bring your own.)
- 2 towels
- Small bar of soap
- 2 sheets, 1 pillow and pillow case, and ONE light blanket.
It gets pretty cold at night so you may want to bring your own
comforter/sleeping bag. Don't say we didn't warn you!
Checking In
When you arrive at Hofstra, head to the
Sondra and David S. Mack Student Center (Building #31 on the
Hofstra map) to check in, pick up your keys,
mealcard and handbook.
Have your white form that you received with the confirmation letter
handy. (If you don't bring the form, it will increase the time it takes
for you to check in.)
Wristband Policy
A wristband is required to be worn throughout the entire conference.
You will receive it upon check-in. Please do NOT remove until
conference is over. The wristband identifies you as having registered
with this conference. Without it, you will be denied access to all
workshops and meetings.

DAY RATE
There's more than one way to attend the New York Summer Conference this year.
If you are unable to attend full time, you can use our Day Rate plan.
With the day rate, you can join in main session meetings with Ken Fong (Evergreen Baptist Church) and Joseph Tsang (Vision Church in NYC) and attend workshops. No lodging or meals are provided with the day rate and it is only available to the College & Career portion of the conference.
We have 2 great main speakers as well as workshop speakers this year. Ken Fong will be traveling all the way from Los Angeles, we hope you can travel the relatively short distance from home to meet him and enjoy the fellowship among the churches in the Northeast.
How does the Day Rate work?
Rates
- $10 for one event (main session meeting or workshop)
- $15 for any two events
- $35 for the whole day
- Please email us at em@nysummerconference.org with your name, church, days and events you plan to attend. You do NOT have to fill out the standard registration form.
- When you arrive at the conference, check in at our hospitality desk, located at the main meeting location -- Student Theater in the Student Center (Building #31 on the Hofstra campus map)
- Keep your receipt and wristband which will get you into meetings
- Make sure you check the schedule and allow plenty of time to check in. you will need time to get to workshop locations after checking in.
Why are we offering the day rate?
To enable more New Yorkers and Long Islanders to enjoy the conference. You can come after work in time for the evening sessions or commute on select days to join us.

How can you get to the Hofstra campus?
- Drive, or
- LIRR. Take the LIRR to the Hempstead stop. The Hofstra University courtesy bus will take you to the campus.
